Days before the 80th running of the Indy 500, fans are still shaken by the loss of Scott Brayton. His death really took all the fun out of what we do at SpeedCenter. Only a few days ago we were still writing photo captions in our usual style, poking fun at all the involved, inlcuding Scott Brayton. We will now complete the Indy 500 coverage in a somewhat more sober tone. Later, we plan on setting up a few pages dedicated to Scott Brayton. If fans have any ideas regarding what they would like to see in this virtual memorial, please email us at editor@speedcenter.com.

We hope that in spite of the extremely low rate of experience in this years starting field, the Sunday event will not only be a safe race, but also interesting and entertaining for the fans.

In case you are going to be at the track and have a racing scanner radio, check out our latest update of the IRL scanner frequencies.

And don't forget to keep an eye on the Indianapolis weather forecast.
